Suggested Family Activity 🎭🎬 Improv

Published by Library Staff on

Have fun today by making up stories about random pictures.  It could be a family snapshot or a picture out of a book or magazine.  If the person telling the story needs prompting, ask them to tell you who the main characters are, what they are doing, and why they are doing it.  There’s no right or wrong answer – it’s just fun to create a story from your imagination.  Young children can be asked about key details like colors and the names of objects seen in the picture.

Storytelling is fun for the whole family – everyone can play along, no matter their age!  For young children, telling stories helps them to improve their vocabulary, as well as their descriptive and narrative skills.  Telling stories is also beneficial to senior adults as this activity can help to keep their minds sharp.  It’s also a great way to connect with each other and strengthen the bonds of your family.
