Libraries Rock: Summer Reading Program

Summer Reading Program

Calling all Library Rock Stars … Join the Northeast Regional Library and our 13 branches this summer as we celebrate our 2018 Summer Reading Program theme – “Libraries Rock!” Activities begin in June at most of our branches, although some programs and activities will also continue throughout July.

All of our branches are planning weekly crafts, games, activities and programs centering on the world of music. We’ll be making instruments from everyday objects such as paper plate tambourines, drinking straw flutes and plastic egg maracas. Some of our libraries will have actual musical instruments such as drums, keyboards, guitars, violins, dulcimers and autoharps as well as musicians to play them. Several of our libraries, such as the ones at Blue Mountain and Ripley, even plan to let children experience music from other cultures.
