The Northeast Regional Library System Now Offers Downloadable Digital Media

Beginning August 1, 2015 the Northeast Regional Library System, which serves the Mississippi counties of Alcorn, Prentiss, Tippah, and Tishomingo, will now offer downloadable books, and audio books to library card holders.

To use the new materials residents will need a valid library card, an Android or Apple tablet or smartphone, and the RBdigital app. Users will need wifi access to the internet in order to checkout and download the digital media, but will be able to read the downloaded items without an internet connection.

The digital book (“e-book”) and digital audiobook (“e-audio”) collections contain current bestsellers and classic works often found on reading lists.

The e-books and e-audios check-out for two weeks with the possibility of a one week renewal. At the end of the loan period, the e-book or e-audio automatically disappears from the user’s device. The e-books and e-audios, like their physical counterparts, can only be used by one user at a time.

Informational sessions will be offered to the public at libraries throughout the four counties in the coming months. For more information click on the “Digital Resources” tab!
