Celebrate National Library Week April 7th-13th, 2024

Booneville, MS – George E. Allen encourages all community members to visit the library during National Library Week, April 7th-13th to explore all they have to offer.

Ready, Set, Library! Your library is a special place with opportunities waiting for you.

Libraries are welcoming spaces that bring communities together for entertainment, education, and connection through book clubs, story times, crafting classes, lectures, and more. George E. Allen Library offers a wide array of programs, classes, and resources, including local genealogy and history books, the George E. Allen Artifacts collection, Paint and Sip classes, and Bingo nights.

And libraries play a critical role in the economic vitality of communities by providing internet and technology access, literacy skills, and support for job seekers, small businesses, and entrepreneurs. George E. Allen Library supports Booneville with services such as basic computer skills classes and AR books for children.

So, get Ready, Set, Library at George E. Allen Library. Stop by for a visit to celebrate with them during National Library Week, April 7th-13th. Dewey the Gnome will be hiding each day and we will be offering prizes for finding him. A Basic Computer Class will be offered twice on Wednesday 10th at 10:00 and 2:00 and bring the toddlers for Toddler Time on Friday 12th at 10:00. Follow us on Facebook and the hashtag #National Library Week to join the online celebration.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries of all types across the country each April.
